Regular Season Round 20: Girona Basquet - Castelldefels 78-76

Tenth-ranked Castelldefels (5-9) made lots of trouble for first ranked Girona Basquet (11-3). Girona Basquet managed to secure only two-point victory 78-76. However their fans expected much easier game. Point guard Xavier Costa (192-84) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points. Isaac Valera contributed with 15 points for the winners. Girona Basquet's coach Quim Costa used entire bench in such tough game. Forward Jordi Boronat (-85) replied with 21 points and 9 rebounds and Andreu Sese added 21 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Castelldefels. Girona Basquet have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Newly promoted Girona Basquet maintains first position in Group C-A with 11-3 record, which they share with Vive El Masnou. Castelldefels at the other side stay at the bottom place with nine games lost. They share the position with Cantaires Tortosa. Girona Basquet will play against league's second-placed Vive El Masnou in Barcelona in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Castelldefels will play at home against Arenys (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
