Regular Season Round 14: NSH - Stapac 62-85
Date: January 20, 2018
Bottom-ranked NSH (0-10) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 85-62 loss to third ranked Stapac (6-3) in Jakarta on Saturday evening. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. Stapac outrebounded NSH 49-29 including 19 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Stapac made 7 blocks. American-Jamaican forward Kore White (205-89, college: S.Florida) had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks to lead the charge for the winners and international Abraham Grahita (201-95) chipped in 24 points and 4 assists during the contest. American guard Brachon Griffin (185-92, college: Elizabeth City, agency: SDJ Sports) responded with 30 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and his fellow American import forward Jason Carter (206-92, college: Texas Southern, agency: Haylett Sports) scored 8 points and 10 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Stapac moved-up to second place, which they share with Pacific Caesar. Loser NSH still closes the standings with ten games lost. They share the position with Siliwangi. Stapac will meet at home league's second-placed Pacific Caesar in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. NSH will have a break next round.
