Important game to mention about took place in Aldeota. Tenth ranked SKY/Basquete (6-8) saved a 2-point victory at home edging higher ranked Pinheiros (9-7) 66-64 on Saturday evening. American guard Rashaun McLemore (193-86, college: CS Northridge) notched 21 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international center Bruno Fiorotto (208-84) supported him with 9 points and 10 rebounds. Even 21 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) by American guard Cordero Bennett (188-88) did not help to save the game for Pinheiros. Forward Arthur Bernardi (206-90, college: Houston Baptist) added 19 points and 4 steals for the guests. Pinheiros' coach Cesar Guidetti tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. SKY/Basquete maintains tenth position with 6-8 record. Pinheiros lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with seven games lost. SKY/Basquete will play against higher ranked Mogi (#4) in Mogi das Cruzes in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
