Regular Season Round 30: Kumamoto V. - Hiroshima D. 97-86

An interesting game for Kumamoto V. (20-9) which hosted in Kumamoto 4th ranked Dragonflies (16-13). Second ranked Kumamoto V. managed to get a 11-point victory 97-86. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Dragonflies. Kumamoto V. made 26-of-30 free shots (86.7 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Dragonflies 42-25 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Kumamoto V. especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Dragonflies were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Dutch-Australian power forward Josh Duinker (209-89, college: Richmond) who led his team to a victory with 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. Point guard Takumi Furuno (179-93) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists for the winners. American power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas) replied with 16 points and his fellow American import guard Terrence Drisdom (196-92, college: Cal Poly Pomona) added 17 points in the effort for Dragonflies. Four Dragonflies players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Kumamoto V. have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 20-9 record having just three point less than leader Akita NH. Loser Dragonflies keep the fourth place with 13 games lost. Kumamoto V. will face again Dragonflies (#4) in Hiroshima in the next round.
