Regular Season Round 13: Aris - Kolossos HH 72-86

Very expected game when 10th ranked Aris (5-8) lost to sixth ranked Kolossos HH (7-6) in Thessaloniki 72-86 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Kolossos HH. Aris was better in fourth quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Aris 38-23 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kolossos HH looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Quite impressive performance for American guard TJ Bray (196-92, college: Princeton) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 6 assists. His fellow American import center Marvin Jones (213-93, college: Texas Southern) contributed with 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Five Kolossos HH players scored in double figures. Power forward Efstratios Voulgaropoulos (215-0) answered with 18 points and point guard Eleftherios Bochoridis (193-94) added 8 points and 6 assists in the effort for Aris. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Kolossos HH moved-up to fifth place, which they share with AEK and Promitheas. Loser Aris dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. Kolossos HH will face Cretan Kings (#8) in Rethymno in the next round. Aris will play at home against Koroivos and hope to win that game.
