Regular Season Round 14: Fubon Braves - Taiwan Beer 71-70

A very close game was the one between Fubon Braves and Taiwan Beer. Fifth ranked Fubon Braves (8-8) got a very close victory over 7th ranked Taiwan Beer (6-11). Fubon Braves managed to escape with a 1-point win 71-70 on Saturday evening. Fubon Braves outrebounded Taiwan Beer 47-36 including a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. American center Garret Siler (213-86, college: Augusta) notched a double-double by scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks to lead the effort and the former international guard Tsung-Hsien Chang (192-87, college: BYU-Hawaii) supported him with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Even a double-double of 18 points and 13 rebounds by Canadian center Liam McMorrow (218-87, college: Tenn Tech, agency: Duran International) did not help to save the game for Taiwan Beer. Point guard Kai-Yan Li (182-93) added 14 points and 4 assists for Fubon Braves. Four Taiwan Beer players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Fubon Braves moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Dacin Tigers. Loser Taiwan Beer stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost. Fubon Braves will meet league's leader Pauian in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Taiwan Beer will play against Dacin Tigers (#4) in Taipei and hope to secure a win.
