There was no surprise when 15th ranked Bergamo (3-14) was defeated at home by ninth ranked Treviso Basket (9-8) 84-70 on Saturday. Treviso Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Bergamo's 32. Treviso Basket forced 19 Bergamo turnovers. American forward John Brown-III (201-92, college: High Point) stepped up and scored 26 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and the former international guard Matteo Fantinelli (196-93, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 14 points and 7 assists. Treviso Basket's coach Stefano Pillastrini let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Danish center Jonas Bergstedt (210-91) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds and forward Giovanni Fattori (203-85, agency: SPORTlab Agency) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Five Treviso Basket and four Bergamo players scored in double figures. Treviso Basket moved-up to eighth place in A2. Newly promoted Bergamo keeps the fifteenth position with 14 games lost. Treviso Basket will face Aurira Jesi (#11) at home in the next round. Bergamo will play against Tezenis Verona (#6) and hope to win that game.
