Regular Season Round 20: GKS Tychy - Kotwica 99-75

Rather predictable result when sixth ranked GKS Tychy (11-8) rolled over at home 9th ranked Kotwica (8-11) 99-75 on Saturday. GKS Tychy dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Kotwica's 42. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Center Dawid Slupinski (206-92) orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Power forward Tomasz Deja (200-83) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners. Four GKS Tychy players scored in double figures. Point guard Pawel Dzierzak (188-95) replied with 13 points, 6 assists and 6 steals and swingman Szymon Ryzek (190-97) added 8 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Kotwica. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. GKS Tychy have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 11-8 record. Loser Kotwica dropped to the tenth place with 11 games lost. GKS Tychy will face Biofarm PZN (#9) in Poznan in the next round. Kotwica will play at home against the league's second-placed Polonia Leszno and hope to win that game.
