There was a minor upset when 7th ranked GOCOR-Sozh (7-17) was crushed on the road by ninth ranked Brest (5-19) 95-69 on Saturday. Brest dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to GOCOR-Sozh's 42. They outrebounded GOCOR-Sozh 59-23 including a 22-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Brest looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists. Kirill Vinokurov had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Anton Shchurko (188-97) chipped in 14 points and 8 assists during the contest. Coach 's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players saving starting five for next games. Point guard Tsimafei Viaroukin (186-93) responded with 27 points and point guard Evgeniy Starostenko (180-92) scored 8 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals. Brest maintains ninth position with 5-19 record. Loser GOCOR-Sozh keeps the seventh place with 17 games lost. Brest will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. GOCOR-Sozh will play against Prinemanye (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
