Regular Season Round 12: Mondeville - Roche 74-81

Bottom-ranked Roche managed to get a second victory, breaking the three-game losing streak on Saturday night. This time newly promoted Roche won against tenth-ranked Mondeville 81-74. Roche made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. Roche outrebounded Mondeville 39-26 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was DR Congolese center Bernadette Ngoyisa (195-82) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Lisa Berkani (176-97) who recorded 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Canadian forward Kimberley Gaucher-Smith (185-84, college: Utah) added 15 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Roche maintains twelfth position with 2-10 record. Loser Mondeville keeps the tenth place with eight games lost. Roche will meet at home higher ranked Nantes Reze (#9) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Mondeville will play against Lyon and hope to secure a win.
