Regular Season Round 15: Ensino - RC Celta 92-85

Top ranked Real Celta Vigo (13-2) recorded its second loss in Lugo on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by sixth ranked Maquinaria Ensino (9-6) 92-85. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Real Celta Vigo. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Real Celta Vigo won third quarter 29-28. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Real Celta Vigo 37-22 including 26 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American Margaret Roundtree (183-88, college: Gardner-Webb, agency: ProDep Management) who had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Regina Gomez (173-82, agency: ProDep Management) chipped in 14 points and 8 assists. Roundtree is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Anne Senosiain (162-97) who recorded 28 points and 5 rebounds and guard Paula Alvarez (172-93) added 13 points (perfect from the field making all six shots) respectively. Four Maquinaria Ensino and five Real Celta Vigo players scored in double figures. Maquinaria Ensino have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain sixth place in Group A with 9-6 record, which they share with Arxil Pontev. Real Celta Vigo at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. Maquinaria Ensino is looking forward to face Joventut LC (#8) in Barcelona in the next round. Real Celta Vigo will play at home against Arxil Pontevedra (#7) and is hoping to win this game.
