Undefeated leader Gran Canaria delivered the fifteenth consecutive victory. This time they crushed 14th ranked Olimpico 64 (3-12) 90-50 in Las Palmas. The game was mostly controlled by Gran Canaria. Olimpico 64 was better in second period 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Olimpico 64 to just 4 points in fourth quarter and to 14 points in second half. Gran Canaria dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Olimpico 64's 22 and had 20 for 30 from the free-throw line, while Olimpico 64 only scored four points from the stripe. They outrebounded Olimpico 64 47-23 including a 31-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Gran Canaria brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a quality performance for American guard Erica Covile (185, college: Temple) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 18 rebounds. Forward Maria Royo (178-86) accounted for 13 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winning side. Four Gran Canaria players scored in double figures. Gran Canaria's coach Maikel Lopez felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sara Gines came up with 12 points and Cecilia Aldecoa added 10 points respectively for Olimpico 64 in the defeat. The victory was the fifteenth consecutive win for Gran Canaria. They maintain first place in Group B with 15-0 record. Olimpico 64 lost their seventh game in a row. They dropped to the thirteenth position with 12 games lost.
