Regular Season Round 19: FC Barcelona II - Caceres 87-78

An interesting game took place in Barcelona where higher ranked Caceres Basket (9-9) was upset on the court of fourteenth ranked Barca II (7-12) 87-78 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Caceres Basket. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 9 points. It was a great evening for Ukrainian power forward Volodymyr Gerun (208-94, college: Portland) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds. Swingman Aleix Font (192-98) helped adding 19 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side forward Sergio Perez (205-79) responded with 18 points and 6 rebounds and Montenegrin guard Nikola Rakocevic (191-91) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Barca II moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Huesca. Loser Caceres Basket keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. Barca II will face higher ranked Melilla Baloncesto (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
