The game in Patras was also quite interesting. Second ranked Olympiacos (10-3) played at the court of 5th ranked Promitheas (7-6). Olympiacos defeated Promitheas 87-73 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Olympiacos. Promitheas managed to win third quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Olympiacos had a 28-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international Vassilis Spanoulis (193-82, agency: BeoBasket) nailed 18 points for the winning side and Serbian center Nikola Milutinov (212-94) accounted for 8 points and 9 rebounds. American center Octavius Ellis (208-93, college: Cincinnati) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and international point guard Nikolaos Gikas (186-91, agency: Octagon Europe) added 21 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Promitheas in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Olympiacos maintains second place with 10-3 record having just three points less than leader Panathinaikos. Loser Promitheas keeps the fifth position with six games lost. They share it with AEK and Kolossos HH. Olympiacos will meet league's leader Panathinaikos in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Promitheas will play against PAOK (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
