There was no surprise in Aichi where 8th ranked Tokyo Cinq R. (3-15) was defeated by fifth ranked Toyoda Gosei (12-6) 65-57 on Sunday. Strangely Tokyo Cinq R. outrebounded Toyoda Gosei 44-24 including a 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was point guard Eiji Sumihiro (171-89) who scored 22 points. American forward Patrick Simon (203-92, college: Seattle Pacific) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Senegalese Bira Seck (204-90, college: Idaho, agency: Interperformances) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and American forward Drew Martin (203-94, college: Concordia, OR) added 8 points and 12 rebounds respectively. Toyoda Gosei have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Saitama Bron. and Otsuka A. Tokyo Cinq R. lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 15 games lost. Toyoda Gosei will face league's leader Tokyo HT at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
