Regular Season Round 31: Akita NH - Iwate Big Bulls 75-51

B League D2 top team - Akita Happinets (26-4) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Iwate Big Bulls (2-28) 75-51. Akita Happinets looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Akita Happinets made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for American forward Chris Cayole (201-85, college: St.Michael's) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points. The former international guard Shigehiro Taguchi (184-90) helped adding 13 points and 4 assists. Four Akita Happinets players scored in double figures. Akita Happinets' coach Josep Claros felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American center Markhuri Sanders-Frison (203-88, college: California) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 22 rebounds and guard Noriyuki Sugasawa (192-87) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Akita Happinets have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 26-4 record. Iwate Big Bulls lost twenty third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 28 games lost. Akita Happinets will face Sendai 89ers (#4) on the road in the next round. Iwate Big Bulls will play against the league's second-placed Gunma and hope to win that game.
