There was an upset in Lugo where higher ranked Estudiantes L. (9-8) was defeated by fifteenth ranked Coruna II (5-12) 78-70 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 16 points after three quarters before their 28-4 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Coruna II dominated on the defensive end, holding Estudiantes L. to just 4 points in fourth quarter. Strangely Estudiantes L. outrebounded Coruna II 48-33 including 34 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was guard Pablo Ferreiro (187-98) who scored 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Pablo Lopez-Pizarro (185-97) chipped in 15 points. Guard Jose-Antonio Lopez (190-96) produced 18 points and 9 rebounds and Pablo Cordoba (182-97) added 13 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Coruna II moved-up to fourteenth place in Group A-B, which they share with Culleredo. Loser Estudiantes L. keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Coruna II will face higher ranked Naron (#12) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Estudiantes L. will play against the league's second-placed Gijon (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
