Regular Season Round 17: Trefl - Polpharma 84-81

A very interesting game took place in Sopot. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of higher ranked Polpharma (9-8) to twelfth ranked Trefl (9-9) 84-81 on Sunday evening. Polpharma was ahead by 3 points after three quarters before a 20-14 charge of Trefl, which allowed them to win the game. They made 19-of-24 charity shots (79.2 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Trefl especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. American center Steve Zack (211-92, college: La Salle) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. American-Hungarian point guard Obadiah Trotter (188-84, college: Alabama A&M) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners. Trefl's coach Marcin Klozinski allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American guard Joe Thomasson (193-93, college: Wright St., agency: Two Points) answered with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Serbian power forward Milan Milovanovic (205-91, agency: 011 Sports) added 14 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Polpharma. Five Trefl and four Polpharma players scored in double figures. Trefl maintains twelfth place with 9-9 record. Polpharma at the other side keeps the eighth position with eight games lost. Trefl's next round opponent will be higher ranked MKS Dabrowa Gornicza (#4) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
