Regular Season Round 31: Shinshu BW - Kanazawa Sam. 74-81

Rather expected game in Nagano where 5th ranked Shinshu BW (12-17) was defeated by third ranked Kanazawa Sam. (15-14) 81-74 on Sunday. It was a great evening for American center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Ide Yuji (181-88) helped adding 15 points and 5 assists. Four Kanazawa Sam. players scored in double figures. At the losing side American Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) responded with 29 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Takei Hiroaki (182-91) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Kanazawa Sam. maintains third place with 15-14 record having four points less than leader Akita NH. Loser Shinshu BW keeps the fifth position with 17 games lost. Kanazawa Sam. will face Tokyo Z (#6) at home in the next round. Shinshu BW will play against Orange Vikings and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
