The game between closely ranked teams ended with fifth ranked Montecatiniterme's (12-6) road victory over 6th ranked Valsesia (10-8) 76-70 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was point guard Guido Meini (188-79) who scored 13 points and 7 assists. Center Lorenzo Galmarini (200-95) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Mattia Magrini (190-93) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists and guard Nicolo Gatti (196-91) added 17 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Valsesia's coach Domenico Bolignano rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Montecatiniterme moved-up to fourth place in B, which they share with Lecco. Loser Valsesia keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. Montecatiniterme will face USE Basket (#12) in Empoli in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Valsesia will play on the road against Oleggio (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
