Regular Season Round 18: Vicenza - Olginate 90-86

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Olginate (7-11) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Vicenza (11-7) 90-86 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Vicenza dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Olginate's 34. They outrebounded Olginate 41-26 including 29 on the defensive glass. Vicenza looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was naturalized Argentinian center Diego Corral (203-86, agency: Interperformances) who scored 30 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Andrea Campiello (200-87) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Marco Tagliabue (206-86) who recorded 26 points and point guard Davide Todeschini (190-93) added 15 points and 7 assists respectively. Five Vicenza and four Olginate players scored in double figures. Olginate's coach Alessandro Galli rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Vicenza maintains fifth position in B with 11-7 record, which they share with Faenza. Olginate lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh place with 11 games lost. Vicenza will face league's second-placed Piacenza on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Olginate will play against Desio (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
