Regular Season Round 17: Vestri - IA 93-80

Bottom-ranked IA is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their 15th consecutive match to fourth ranked Vestri (11-4) 93-80. IA was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Vestri well out of reach of IA shooting 77.3 percent from the field and made 101-of-107 charity shots (94.4 percent) during the game. Vestri forced 31 IA turnovers and outrebounded them 111-92 including a 71-59 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three nailing 24 long-distance shots on high 53.3 percentage. Vestri players were unselfish on offense dishing 43 assists. IA was plagued by 41 personal fouls down the stretch. Montenegrin forward Nemanja Knezevic (203-87) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 17 rebounds and 6 assists (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners and Serbian swingman Nebojsa Knezevic (196-87) chipped in 28 points and 6 assists. Four Vestri players scored in double figures. American point guard Marcus Dewberry (183, college: St.Leo, agency: Aspire Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!), 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals (was perfect 13-for-13 from the free throw line !!!) and point guard Sindri Ingason (183-0) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Vestri moved-up to second place, which they share with Breidablik and Hamar. IA at the other side still closes the standings with 15 games lost. Vestri will play against league's leader Skallagrimur in Borganes in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. IA will play on the road against FSU (#8) in Selfoss and hopes to get finally their first victory.
