Very important is a road loss of third ranked Valmontone (14-4) against fourteenth ranked Patti (4-14) on Sunday night. Visiting Valmontone was edged by Patti in a tough game in Patti 83-85. Patti forced 19 Valmontone turnovers. Strangely Valmontone outrebounded Patti 38-22 including 27 on the defensive glass. Power forward Luigi Dispinseri (200-93) scored 26 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Antonino Sidoti (182-93) chipped in 15 points and 6 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international power forward Luca Bisconti (208-82, agency: SPORTlab Agency) with 19 points and 5 rebounds and Matteo Pierangeli (201-92) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Patti moved-up to thirteenth place in B, which they share with Reggio Emilia. Loser Valmontone dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. Patti will meet higher ranked Roma Luiss (#6) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Valmontone will play against the league's leader Palestrina where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
