An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Santiado del Estero. Third ranked Quimsa faced one of their biggest challengers Obras Basket. Host Quimsa (8-4) defeated guests from Buenos Aires (7-5) 85-81. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Obras Basket. Quimsa looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Obras Basket helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American-Jamaican center Torin Francis (210-83, college: Notre Dame) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. The former international point guard Juan Brussino (185-91) chipped in 21 points and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Maurice Kemp (203-91, college: E.Carolina, agency: Duran International) who recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and Dominican Victor Liz (193-86) added 19 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Quimsa have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 8-4 record having just three points less than leader San Lorenzo. Obras Basket at the other side keeps the fourth place with five games lost. Quimsa will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
