Regular Season Round 16: Fiat TO - New Basket BR 68-82

An interesting game took place in Torino where higher ranked Fiat TO (10-6) was upset on its own court by thirteenth ranked New Basket BR (5-11) 82-68 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Fiat TO. New Basket BR made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Fiat TO turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Nicolas Moore (175-92, college: SMU, agency: Players Group) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 4 assists and Slovenian swingman Blaz Mesicek (197-97, agency: BeoBasket) who added 18 points during the contest. Five New Basket BR players scored in double figures. At the losing side American swingman Deron Washington (201-85, college: Virginia Tech) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and international power forward Antonio Iannuzzi (208-91, agency: Two Points) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Fiat TO's coach Carlo Recalcati let to play ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. New Basket BR moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Fiat TO keeps the fifth position with six games lost. New Basket BR will face The Flexx PT (#12) in Pistoia in the next round. Fiat TO will play on the road against Banco di Srd (#9) in Sassari and hope to win that game.
