Regular Season Round 15: Paulistano - Franca 88-74

Round 15 in NBB means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Sao Paulo where host Paulistano (13-3) beat league's leader Vivo/Franca (12-4) 88-74 on Monday evening. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Vivo/Franca. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Paulistano looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Bahamas forward David Nesbitt (200-91, college: St.Thomas, FL) who scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international point guard Elio Corazza (193-89, college: Miami Dade CC) chipped in 15 points and 6 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Paulistano players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was international Leonardo Meindl (201-93) who recorded 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Marcos Louzada (195-99) added 14 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Paulistano have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Vivo/Franca at the other side dropped to the fourth place with four games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Paulistano. Vivo/Franca will play next round against Joinville trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Paulistano will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Flamengo in Rio de Janeiro.
