Regular Season Round 18: Al Wakrah - Al Ahli 94-92

Eighth-ranked Al Ahli (2-14) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked Al Wakrah (10-6) on Tuesday. Al Wakrah managed to secure only two-point victory 94-92. However their fans expected much easier game. Al Wakrah looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Al Ahli helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Guamanian-American guard Earnest Ross (196-91, college: Missouri, agency: MKP Management) who had a double-double by scoring 30 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals. American-Ghanian Adamu Saaka (198-88, college: Furman) chipped in 22 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian-FYR Macedonian forward Nenad Zivcevic (203-87, agency: Mansfield and Associates) who recorded 43 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 6 assists and Ndoye Seydou-Elhadj added 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) respectively. Al Ahli's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Al Wakrah moved-up to third place, which they share with Qatar Club. Al Ahli lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Al Shamal.
