Regular Season Round 15: Njardvik - IR 87-90

The most exciting game of round 15 in the Dominos League took place in Njardvik. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 5th ranked Njardvik (8-7) to first ranked IR (12-3) 90-87 on Wednesday evening. The guests trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 23-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. IR made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. It was a good game for international point guard Matthias Sigurdarson (183-94, college: Columbus St.) who led his team to a victory with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. American forward Ryan Taylor (196-92, college: Marshall) contributed with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. IR's coach Borche Ilievski used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Terrell Vinson (201-90, college: Massachusetts, agency: HMS) answered with 24 points and 8 rebounds and guard Oddur Kristjansson (188-95) added 14 points and 12 assists in the effort for Njardvik. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. IR have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 12-3 record. Njardvik at the other side keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with Grindavik. IR are looking forward to face Stjarnan (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Njardvik will play against Valur in Reykjavik and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
