Second Stage Round 3: Tresnjevka - Medvescak 40-61

One of the most interesting games of round 3 was a derby match between two teams from Croatia/ZKK-Tresnjevka-2009-Zagreb/14426. The game took place in Zagreb where ZKK Medvescak outleveled host Tresnjevka (3-6) 61-40. ZKK Medvescak forced 22 Tresnjevka turnovers and outrebounded them 41-26 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for guard Iva Borovic (170-88) who led her team to a victory with 22 points. Forward Iva Todoric (174-93) contributed with 4 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. ZKK Medvescak's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Karla Erjavec (172-99) answered with 11 points and 5 rebounds and Andjela Katavic (177-99) added 10 points in the effort for Tresnjevka. ZKK Medvescak will play against Beroe (#7) in Stara Zagora in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tresnjevka will play on the road against Celje where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
