Regular Season Round 27: BC Nokia - Kouvot 86-83

The most exciting game of round 27 in the Korisliiga took place in Nokia. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of second-best Kouvot (14-10) to seventh ranked BC Nokia (13-12) 86-83 on Wednesday evening. Kouvot trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 27-18 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 83-86 at the end of the game. Strangely Kouvot outrebounded BC Nokia 42-30 including a 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Canadian guard Devoe Joseph (193-90, college: Oregon, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 4 assists. Serbian power forward Dragan Labovic (207-87, agency: Alti Sport) helped adding 16 points and 9 rebounds. Five BC Nokia players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international Ville Kaunisto (204-82, agency: Court Side) with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds and American forward Jamie Skeen (203-88, college: VCU) scored 23 points and 9 rebounds. BC Nokia maintains seventh place with 13-12 record. Kouvot at the other side dropped to the fourth position with ten games lost. BC Nokia are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Lapuan Korikobrat (#11) at home in the next round. Kouvot will play against the league's second-placed Helsinki Seagulls (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
