The game between closely ranked teams ended with seventeenth ranked Ourense's (6-13) home victory over bottom-ranked Sammic ISB (5-15) 77-65 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 41-22 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Latvian center Davis Rozitis (215-90, college: Hawaii) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. Rozitis is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Canadian guard Joe De-Ciman (198-94, college: Colorado St.) produced 14 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) and point guard Gaizka Maiza (191-96) added 11 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Sammic ISB's coach Lorenzo Encinas rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Ourense have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifteenth place. Sammic ISB lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Ourense will face higher ranked Leyma Basquet (#9) in Coruna in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Sammic ISB will play at home against Blancos de Rueda (#8) and hope to win that game.
