Regular Season Round 15: Stjarnan - Thor Thorl 79-86

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Thor Thorl (6-9) beat on the road 7th ranked Stjarnan (7-8) 86-79 on Thursday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Stjarnan won third quarter 23-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for American guard DJ Balentine (191-93, college: Evansville, agency: Inception Sports) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Halldor Hermannsson (188-97) contributed with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Collin Pryor (198-90, college: Northern St., agency: Mansfield and Associates) answered with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds and international forward Tomas Hilmarsson (201-95, college: Francis Marion) added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Stjarnan. Four Thor Thorl and five Stjarnan players scored in double figures. Thor Thorl maintains ninth place with 6-9 record. Loser Stjarnan keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. Thor Thorl will face higher ranked Keflavik (#8) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
