The game between closely ranked teams ended with 9th ranked Sitra's (6-15) home loss to eighth ranked Al-Najma (12-9) 65-104. Al-Najma dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Sitra's 34. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Sitra's players. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Haminn Quaintance (203-85, college: Kent St.) who led the winners with a triple-double by scoring 21 points, 16 rebounds, 12 assists and 5 steals. Mohammed Bullay accounted for 15 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists for the winning side. American center Steven Toyloy (203-87, college: Cincinnati) came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 20 rebounds and Mohamed Abdulameer added 15 points and 6 assists respectively for Sitra in the defeat. Five Al-Najma and four Sitra players scored in double figures. Al-Najma moved-up to seventh place. Sitra at the other side keeps the ninth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Al-Bahrain. Al-Najma's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Manama Al-Ittihad.
