The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Skallagrimur (13-3) on the court of second ranked Vestri on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by Vestri 95-89. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Skallagrimur. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Skallagrimur won third quarter 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best for the losing side was American guard Aaron Parks (190-94, college: CS Northridge) with 31 points and 6 assists and forward Bjarni Jonsson (200-99) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Vestri have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 12-4 record behind leader Skallagrimur, which they share with Breidablik and Hamar. Skallagrimur at the other side still keeps top place with three games lost. Vestri is looking forward to face Snaefell (#5) in Stykkisholmur in the next round. Skallagrimur will play on the road against FSU (#8) in Selfoss and is hoping to win this game.
