The game in Reykjavik was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Hamar (12-4) played at the court of 7th ranked Gnupverjar (5-11). Hamar defeated Gnupverjar 100-89 on Friday. Hamar forced 19 Gnupverjar turnovers. The best player for the winners was American guard Julian Nelson (196, college: Coker) who scored 22 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Jon Sverrisson (187-98) chipped in 4 points, 8 rebounds and 12 assists. Four Hamar players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Everage Richardson (191-85, college: Co.Carolina) who recorded a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds and forward Hraunar Gudmundsson (194-91) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hamar have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Breidablik and Vestri. Newly promoted Gnupverjar keeps the seventh position with 11 games lost. Hamar will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Gnupverjar will play against Breidablik (#3) in Kopavogur and hope to secure a win.
