Regular Season Round 16: Denain - Aix-Maurienne 82-80

A very close game took place in Denain between Denain Voltaire and Aix-Maurienne. Ninth ranked Denain Voltaire (8-8) got a very close home victory over 13th ranked Aix-Maurienne (5-11). Denain Voltaire managed to escape with a 2-point win 82-80 on Friday evening. At the losing side American-British point guard Akeem Williams (178-91, college: Mass.-Lowell) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds and American power forward Curtis Kelly (208-88, college: Kansas St., agency: HMS) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Denain Voltaire maintains ninth position with 8-8 record. Loser Aix-Maurienne keeps the thirteenth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Vichy Clermont and Poitiers. Denain Voltaire will meet JA Vichy (#13) on the road in the next round. Aix-Maurienne will play against Provence Basket and hope to secure a win.
