Regular Season Round 33: Toros - Libertadores 94-78

Rather expected game in Nuevo Laredo where 11th ranked Libertadores (6-23) were defeated by eighth ranked Toros (14-16) 94-78 on Friday. Toros shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 58.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Gary Ricks (185-91, college: Drake) who scored 29 points and 4 assists. Puerto Rican forward William Orozco (201-85, agency: Paris Global Sports) chipped in 22 points and 7 rebounds. Four Toros players scored in double figures. Toros' coach Jose Martinez Boglio used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Travis Gabbidon (201-86, college: UTSA) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and guard Michael Perez (190-91, college: Nevada) added 10 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals respectively. Toros moved-up to seventh place. Libertadores lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 23 lost games. Toros will again meet at home bottom-ranked Libertadores (#11) in the next round. Libertadores will have a break next round.
