There was no surprise when 10th ranked Mondeville (4-9) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Lyon (7-6) 73-62 on Friday. Lyon looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American forward Haley Peters (190-92, college: Duke, agency: ProDep Management) fired a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Australian guard Rebecca Allen (185-92, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 13 points and 4 assists. Lyon's coach Valery Demory used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Canadian forward Kimberley Gaucher-Smith (185-84, college: Utah) produced 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Czech swingman Romana Hejdova (184-88) added 9 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Lyon moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Tarbes. Loser Mondeville keeps the tenth position with nine games lost. Lyon will face Nantes Reze (#9) on the road in the next round. Mondeville will play against the league's leader Bourges and hope to win that game.
