Leader Empoli recorded the fourteenth victory. This time they beat 10th ranked Savonese (7-9) 68-53. They outrebounded Savonese 55-36 including a 38-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. Empoli players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Czech center Klara Pochobradska (186-89, agency: SPORTlab Agency) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Lithuanian forward Gabriele Narviciute (190-90) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Guard Lucrezia Zanetti (175-97) answered with 23 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals and guard Elisabetta Penz (172-96) added 10 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Savonese. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Empoli maintains first place in A2 with 14-1 record. Newly promoted Savonese keeps the tenth position with nine games lost.
