Regular Season Round 15: Alvik Basket - Hogsbo 89-96

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Stockholm where 5th ranked Alvik Basket (7-7) was defeated by sixth ranked Hogsbo (7-9) 96-89 on Saturday. Alvik Basket was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 36-24 charge of Hogsbo, which allowed them to win the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 51.6 percentage. Hogsbo looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Filip Sjostrom (200-90) who scored 25 points and 7 rebounds. The former international power forward Martin Ringstrom (206-81) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds. Four Hogsbo players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Papy N'diaye (190-94) who recorded 24 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Richard Hartmann (203-89) added 21 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Hogsbo maintains sixth place with 7-9 record. Loser Alvik Basket keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. Hogsbo will face Malbas (#8) in Malmo in the next round. Alvik Basket will play on the road against AIK Basket in Solna and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
