Regular Season Round 16: Artego Bydg. - TS Ostrovia 85-66

There was no surprise in Bydgoszcz where 10th ranked TS Ostrovia (4-11) was crushed by second ranked Artego Bydg. (13-2) 85-66 on Saturday. Artego Bydg. dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to TS Ostrovia's 24. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by TS Ostrovia's players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Julie McBride (163-82, college: Syracuse) who helped to win the game recording 8 points and 13 assists and Serbian-Bosnian center Dragana Stankovic (195-95) who added 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American center Breanna Lewis (196-94, college: Kansas St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and the former international point guard Monika Naczk (170-95) scored 14 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Artego Bydg. have a solid four-game winning streak. They used an opportunity after Wisla Krakow lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Loser TS Ostrovia keeps the tenth place with 11 games lost. Artego Bydg. will meet CCC Polkowice (#4) on the road in the next round. TS Ostrovia will play against the league's leader Wisla Krakow (#1) and hope to secure a win.
