There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Novaschool (7-8) lost to ninth ranked Multiopticas Baza (3-11) in Malaga 67-73 on Saturday. Novaschool was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for center Jorge Rodriguez (198-94) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard David Garcia (180-93) contributed with 15 points and 5 assists for the winners. Multiopticas Baza's coach Mariano Garcia used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Alex Jackson (200-84, college: Mo.-St.Louis) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and John Esters added 14 points in the effort for Novaschool. Multiopticas Baza maintains ninth place in Group D-A with 3-11 record. Novaschool lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the eighth position with eight games lost. Multiopticas Baza will face higher ranked Coin (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
