Regular Season Round 21: Univ.Burgos - Easo 73-67

There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Univ.Burgos (7-8) won against at home 4th placed Easo (12-6) 73-67 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 19-12. But Easo won second period 21-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Univ.Burgos won last quarter 18-14. It was a good game for point guard Gonzalo Santana (175-95) who led his team to a victory with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Senegalese center Mouhamadou Diop (212-87) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Forward Asier Azpeitia (192-98) answered with 18 points and 7 rebounds and Mikel Sanz (195-99) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Easo. Five Univ.Burgos and four Easo players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Univ.Burgos. They maintain ninth place in Group A-A with 7-8 record. Loser Easo keeps the fourth position with six games lost. Univ.Burgos will have a break next round. Easo will play at home against CBT Gimnastica (#16) and hope to win that game.
