Regular Season Round 21: Haneda Vickies - Toyota B SR 66-97

Rather predictable result in Tokyo where seventh ranked Toyota B SR (11-10) smashed 9th ranked Haneda Vickies (7-14) 97-66. The game without a history. Toyota B SR led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Haneda Vickies to just 7 points in first quarter. Toyota B SR dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Haneda Vickies' 26 and made 17-of-21 charity shots (81.0 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Toyota B SR especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Power forward Sari Osabe (174-87) nailed 27 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and guard Yui Kawahara (169-91) accounted for 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Nanoko Motohashi (164-93) came up with 11 points and 4 assists and power forward Takagi Yuri (178-93) added 5 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Haneda Vickies in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Toyota B SR. They maintain seventh place with 11-10 record. Haneda Vickies at the other side dropped to the eighth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Hitachi Cougars. Toyota B SR will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Haneda Vickies will play again at home against Toyota B SR (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
