There was a small surprise when fifth ranked Vicenza (12-7) beat on the road much higher ranked Piacenza (15-4) 78-71 on Saturday. Vicenza made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. It was a very good performance for naturalized Argentinian center Diego Corral (203-86, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Eros Chinellato (191-91, agency: SPORTlab Agency) contributed with 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Forward Riccardo Pederzini (200-89, agency: Players Group) answered with 19 points and 6 rebounds and the former international power forward Riccardo Perego (202-81) added 15 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Piacenza. Vicenza moved-up to fourth place in B, which they share with Faenza and Lecco. Loser Piacenza keeps the second position with four games lost. Vicenza will face Lecco (#4) at home in the next round. Piacenza will play against Faenza and hope to win that game.
