Very expected game when 12th ranked Promete (3-12) lost to fourth ranked Adelantados (11-5) in San Cristobal 66-81 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Adelantados. Promete was better in third quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. Quite impressive performance for American forward Caira Washington (188-95, college: G.Washington) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Laura Fernandez (169-89) contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Adelantados players scored in double figures. Forward Laura Arroyo (181-91) replied with 16 points and 6 rebounds and guard Elena Salcedo (170-90) added 9 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Promete. Adelantados maintains fourth position in Group B with 11-5 record, which they share with Real Canoe. Loser Promete keeps the twelfth place with 12 games lost. Adelantados will face Adareva (#13) in Laguna in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Promete will play at home against Alcobendas and hope to win that game.
