Regular Season Round 18: Fuenlabrada - Andorra 77-85

We should mention about the upset which took place in Madrid, where higher ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (11-7) lost at home to tenth ranked Andorra (9-9) 77-85 on Saturday. Andorra made 30-of-36 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game, while Baloncesto Fuenlabrada only scored thirteen points from the stripe. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Slovenian Jaka Blazic (196-90) who scored 19 points. International point guard Jaime Fernandez (186-93) chipped in 22 points (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Four Andorra players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Mexican guard Francisco Cruz (190-89, college: Wyoming) who recorded 21 points, 5 assists and 4 steals and DR Congolese Christian Eyenga (201-89) added 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Andorra maintains tenth position with 9-9 record, which they share with Obradoiro. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with seven games lost. Andorra will face league's leader Real Madrid at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada will play against RETAbet BB in Bilbao and hope to win that game.
