Regular Season Round 16: Borea - Peja 93-69

Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Peja: Borea (#1) and Peja (#6). Borea (3-13) smashed visiting Peja (5-10) by 24 points 93-69. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Borea forced 22 Peja turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Peja's players. The winners were led by Sami Hajzeri (193-92) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 20 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists and point guard Shpend Gashi (184-88) supported him with 23 points. Borea's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 19 points and 8 rebounds by swingman Beq Kovaqi (193-93) did not help to save the game for Peja. Guard Rron Uka (185-0) added 16 points and 12 rebounds for lost side. Newly promoted Borea maintains first position with 3-13 record. Peja lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with ten games lost. Borea's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Peja Peja.
