Regular Season Round 18: Monaco - Levallois 78-77

Twelfth-ranked Paris-Levallois (8-10) made lots of trouble for first ranked Monaco (14-4). Monaco managed to secure only one-point victory 78-77. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Paris-Levallois. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 23-18. But Paris-Levallois won second period 24-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Monaco players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was a good game for international guard Paul Lacombe (190-90, agency: BeoBasket) who saved his team from a defeat with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Bosnian center Elmedin Kikanovic (211-88, agency: BeoBasket) contributed with 15 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Monaco players scored in double figures. Monaco's coach Zvezdan Mitrovic allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Slovenian guard Klemen Prepelic (191-92) replied with 14 points and 7 assists and American power forward Gavin Ware (206-93, college: Mississippi St.) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Paris-Levallois. Monaco maintains first position with 14-4 record. Paris-Levallois at the other side dropped to the tenth place with ten games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Monaco will play against league's second-placed Le Mans on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Paris-Levallois will play against JL Bourg (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
