Regular Season Round 32: Iwate Big Bulls - Gunma 65-83

There was no surprise when 6th ranked Iwate Big Bulls (2-29) were defeated at home by second ranked Gunma (18-12) 83-65 on Saturday. Gunma made 20-of-21 free shots (95.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Iwate Big Bulls turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Scootie Randall (198-90, college: Temple) who scored 28 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Point guard Masashi Obuchi (182-83) chipped in 7 points and 5 assists. American center Michael Buchanan (213-94, college: USC Upstate) produced 20 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import center Jalen McGaughy (208, college: Dillard) added 15 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks respectively for the hosts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Gunma have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 18-12 record behind leader Akita NH. Iwate Big Bulls lost twenty fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 29 games lost. Gunma will have a break next round. Iwate Big Bulls will play again at home against the league's second-placed Gunma (#2) and hope to win that game.
